Nasdaq Futures / NQ – Forecast for 14 April 2025
Price action and bearish time cycle forecasts are diverging.
We continue to be in a bearish time cycle that started on 29 March 2025 and indicates a weakening around 17 April 2025.
Last Friday, we had a strong bearish view on NQ. And that view royally failed and NQ ended up closing higher. The bearish sentiment was weak in the beginning, and thereafter, it just failed. We went into "cautious mode" with the bearish view after the drop in the first hour was quickly bought into.
Failure was an example of "price action" not matching "time cycle forecast"
Today's time cycle suggests a bearish sentiment, too. We also had bearish effects from the weekend's time cycle, and those are likely to spill over into Monday. If there was a pending bearish sentiment from Friday, too, all of that indicates a super-strong bearish sentiment today. BUT - Will it occur?
At the time of writing this, NQ is hovering around 19200 levels. It does not show any signs of bearishness in any way. We are at a resistance zone, but that does not indicate bearishness.
I would be cautious on either side today. Any adverse news events or a tweet could lead into a massive crash in NQ.
The bearish sentiment will weaken from tomorrow, but that does not indicate bullishness.
Today's opening trade bias. (9.30 am)
The time cycle suggests a bullish sentiment around 9.26-9.29 am (pre-open). NQ is expected to exhibit bullish behavior for the first 9 minutes and thereafter some bearishness might kick in.
